Austria set up a KI-Servicestelle at the regulator RTR in 2024 to advise companies on the EU AI Act, backed by the national strategy AIM AT 2030 and a 2024 implementation plan with measures across every ministry. Supervision of high-risk systems is shared with sector regulators such as the FMA and the Datenschutzbehörde. Austrian buyers, often mid-sized industrial and family-owned firms, want AI that is dependable, documented and respectful of works council agreements.
