02 / AI in Toronto
Where AI agents pay off in Toronto.
Toronto is Canada’s financial and corporate centre and one of the world’s strongest AI research communities, anchored by the Vector Institute at MaRS and the University of Toronto. Most Toronto companies are not short of AI ideas; they are short of engineers to turn one into a working system that passes risk and procurement review. Banks, insurers, pension funds, retailers and professional services firms ask us for agents that prepare documents, answer staff and client questions, and reconcile data across systems, with clear records of what the agent did.
Ontario now regulates AI in hiring directly. Since 1 January 2026, employers with 25 or more employees must state in publicly advertised job postings whether AI is used to screen, assess or select applicants, under amendments made by the Working for Workers Four Act. Personal data in the private sector falls under PIPEDA, and federally regulated financial institutions face OSFI Guideline E-23 on model risk, which extends to AI and machine learning models from 1 May 2027. We build agents with model inventories, testing records and human approval so those requirements are straightforward to meet.
we design for
- PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act)
- Ontario Employment Standards Act AI disclosure in job postings (Working for Workers Four Act), in effect since 1 January 2026
- OSFI Guideline E-23 on model risk management for federally regulated financial institutions (applies to AI models from 1 May 2027)
We are engineers, not lawyers. We build to these frameworks and work with your legal and compliance teams on the final review.

05 / FAQ
Questions from Toronto teams.
What hours do you work with Toronto teams?
Toronto is nine to ten hours behind our team, so we work live with you from about 8am to 12pm Eastern every weekday, which is our evening. The rest of the day runs asynchronously with written updates, ready-to-review work each morning and recorded demos. We do not have a Toronto office, and we say so up front.
Can the system run in a Canadian cloud region?
Yes. We deploy inside your own AWS, Azure or Google Cloud account in a Canadian region and select model providers that meet your residency policy, including open-weight models you host yourself where needed.
Do we need to disclose AI in our job postings?
If you have 25 or more employees and use AI to screen, assess or select applicants for an Ontario role, your publicly advertised postings must say so. We document exactly where any tool we build uses AI in the hiring process, which makes the disclosure accurate.
Can you work with our model risk and procurement teams?
Yes. We supply architecture and data flow documentation, evaluation results, known limitations and monitoring plans, which are the materials model risk and third-party risk teams usually ask for, and we complete vendor questionnaires before any work begins.
Put an AI agent to work in Toronto.
Thirty minutes, one workflow, an honest view of whether an agent will pay for itself.
