02 / Why Canada companies work with us

Senior engineers, your hours, your rules.

Working hours that fit yours

Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa are nine to ten hours behind our team, so we cover Eastern mornings live from 8am to 12pm ET, which is our evening. Vancouver and Calgary get early-morning overlap, and the rest of the day runs asynchronously with written updates and recorded demos.

Built for your regulations

We design to PIPEDA, with Bill C-36 (the Protecting Privacy and Consumer Data Act, tabled 15 June 2026) proposed to replace it from the first sketch, with audit logs and human approval for decisions that affect people.

Your cloud, your region

Agents can run entirely inside your own cloud account in a Canada or nearby region, with model providers chosen for data residency and no training on your data.

03 / AI in Canada

What is changing, and where agents pay off.

Canada still has no AI-specific federal law. The Artificial Intelligence and Data Act died with Bill C-27 when Parliament was prorogued in January 2025, and the Minister of AI and Digital Innovation has said it will not be revived. Instead, Bill C-36, the Protecting Privacy and Consumer Data Act tabled on 15 June 2026, would replace PIPEDA and add transparency duties for automated decisions. Quebec’s Law 25 already requires those disclosures. We build agents so both are easy to meet.

The practical work for Canadian clients sits in operations: reconciling invoices and payments, triaging support and claims, preparing reports for managers, and handling customer requests in English and French. Agents can run entirely inside your own cloud account in a Canadian region such as Montreal, Toronto or Calgary. Each one logs every action it takes and waits for a person to approve anything that changes money, a customer record or a decision about an individual.

we design for

  • PIPEDA, with Bill C-36 (the Protecting Privacy and Consumer Data Act, tabled 15 June 2026) proposed to replace it
  • Quebec Law 25, fully in force since September 2024, including its automated decision disclosure rules
  • No federal AI statute yet: AIDA died with Bill C-27 in January 2025; OSFI Guideline E-23 covers AI and machine learning models at federally regulated financial institutions from 1 May 2027

We are engineers, not lawyers. We build to these frameworks and work with your legal and compliance teams on the final review.

04 / FAQ

Questions from Canada teams.

Do you work in Canadian business hours?

Partly, and we plan around it. Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa are nine to ten hours behind our team, so we work live from 8am to 12pm Eastern every weekday and arrange early-morning overlap for Vancouver and Calgary on request. Outside those windows we deliver asynchronously with written updates and recorded demos, so nothing waits on a meeting.

Can our data stay in Canada?

Yes. We deploy inside your own AWS, Azure or Google Cloud account in a Canadian region, such as Montreal, Calgary or Toronto, and choose model providers with Canadian or US data residency as your policy requires. Personal data is handled under PIPEDA and, for Quebec residents, Law 25, with a data processing agreement signed before scoping.

How do your rates compare with Canadian AI agencies?

Toronto AI development firms commonly charge CAD 90 to 180 an hour, and consultancies considerably more. Our senior engineers work from USD 18 to 80 an hour depending on seniority, and every engagement can start with a fixed-price pilot on one workflow so the cost is known before you commit. We quote in CAD or USD and provide the paperwork your finance team needs.

Do your agents work in French for Quebec?

Yes. We build and test agents in French and English, with French speakers on your side reviewing tone and accuracy before launch. For Quebec users we also design to Law 25: when a decision is made solely by automated processing, the person is told, can ask for the reasons and factors, and can have a human review it.

Ready to hand the busywork to agents in Canada?

Thirty minutes, one workflow, an honest view of whether an agent will pay for itself.
