02 / AI in Amsterdam

Where AI agents pay off in Amsterdam.

Dutch companies tend to have modern systems and open APIs, but rarely a single system that does the whole job. An order might pass through a webshop, a warehouse system, a carrier portal and an accounting package before it is done, and someone often copies data between them by hand. Much of our Amsterdam work is middleware: integration services and message flows that move data reliably between those systems, with retries, monitoring and audit logs, and AI agents added only where a step needs reading, judgement or a written reply. For Rotterdam’s logistics and maritime firms the same pattern applies to shipping documents, bookings and exceptions.

The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens supervises the GDPR and the Dutch UAVG and, through its Directie Coördinatie Algoritmes, coordinates supervision of algorithms and AI in the Netherlands, with transparency, explainability and bias testing among its stated 2026 priorities. The EU AI Act adds transparency duties from 2 August 2026 and standalone high-risk obligations from 2 December 2027. We document which systems make or support decisions about people, keep a person in charge of those decisions, and log what every agent and integration did.

we design for

  • EU GDPR and the Dutch UAVG, supervised by the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens
  • Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens coordinating supervision of algorithms and AI (Directie Coördinatie Algoritmes)
  • EU AI Act: transparency duties from 2 August 2026 and standalone high-risk obligations from 2 December 2027

We are engineers, not lawyers. We build to these frameworks and work with your legal and compliance teams on the final review.

05 / FAQ

Questions from Amsterdam teams.

Do you have an office in Amsterdam?

No. We work remotely from Pakistan, which is four hours ahead of the Netherlands in winter and three in summer, so your morning overlaps our afternoon. Meetings and demos run between 9am and 2pm Dutch time on video, and we stay reachable on Slack or Teams through your afternoon with written hand-overs.

What kind of middleware do you build?

Integration layers between business systems: REST and event-based APIs, message queues, scheduled syncs, webhooks and connectors for ERP, CRM, e-commerce, warehouse and finance platforms. We write it as code you own, with tests, monitoring and documentation, rather than locking you into a proprietary integration platform.

Can you work in Dutch?

Delivery, documentation and meetings are in English. Agents and chatbots can work in Dutch, English or both, and we test outputs with Dutch speakers on your team before launch.

How does the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens affect an AI project?

The AP enforces the GDPR and watches how organisations use algorithms, especially where decisions affect people. We keep personal data in your EU account, limit what each agent can see, record why the system produced an output and keep a person responsible for consequential decisions, so you can answer questions from the AP or your own works council.
