02 / Why New Zealand companies work with us

Senior engineers, your hours, your rules.

Working hours that fit yours

New Zealand is seven to eight hours ahead of our team. We overlap from 2pm NZ time, then work through your evening so results are ready for your morning.

Built for your regulations

We design to Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles from the first sketch, with audit logs and human approval for decisions that affect people.

Your cloud, your region

Agents can run entirely inside your own cloud account in a New Zealand or nearby region, with model providers chosen for data residency and no training on your data.

03 / AI in New Zealand

What is changing, and where agents pay off.

New Zealand released its first national AI strategy in 2025 with a light-touch approach that encourages businesses to adopt AI with confidence. Many larger companies already use AI in some form, while smaller firms are still deciding where to start. A fixed-scope pilot on one workflow is the lowest-risk way in.

We build agents for customer operations, finance and reporting, and knowledge retrieval, hosted in Australian or New Zealand cloud regions where required, with logging and human approval built in.

04 / FAQ

Questions from New Zealand teams.

How do you work across the time difference with New Zealand?

We overlap from about 2pm New Zealand time for stand-ups and reviews, then work through your evening and deliver overnight. Many clients like that the work is waiting for them each morning.

Where is our data hosted?

In your own cloud account, in Auckland or Sydney regions as you prefer, with model providers chosen for data residency and no training on your data.

Is a small pilot possible for an SME?

Yes. Pilots are fixed-scope and fixed-price on a single workflow, and many start at a few weeks of work. We are honest at the scoping call if an agent will not pay for itself.

How much does AI development cost in New Zealand?

Senior local teams in Auckland and Wellington are commonly quoted at USD 50 to 99 an hour, and independent contractors at NZD 120 to 200. Our senior engineers work from USD 18 to 80 an hour depending on seniority, and pilots are fixed-price on a single workflow. We quote in NZD or USD so there are no surprises on the invoice.

How do you deliver AI development in Auckland without a local office?

The same way many New Zealand agencies already do, since plenty deliver offshore themselves. We join your Slack or Teams, work in your repositories and cloud account, and hold stand-ups from about 2pm New Zealand time. The difference is that you deal directly with the senior engineers doing the work, with no local mark-up in between.

Can I hire AI developers instead of using an agency?

You can, and for some teams a dedicated engineer is the right call. We offer both: a fixed-price pilot delivered by our team, or one or more senior engineers embedded in yours on a monthly basis. Either way you keep the code, the prompts and the evaluation sets, and you can switch models as your needs change.

Who owns the code, prompts and data when the project ends?

You do. We work in your repositories and cloud accounts wherever possible, and all code, prompts, evaluation sets and documentation transfer to you. There are no licence fees and no lock-in.

Ready to hand the busywork to agents in New Zealand?

Thirty minutes, one workflow, an honest view of whether an agent will pay for itself.
